| Goal | A new standard in paediatric HIV/AIDS diagnosis, care and treatment.
| | Approach | Ensure that children are a priority in provision of anti-retroviral therapies and assure sustainability of impact through:
- Encouraging adoption of early infant diagnosis and treatment guidelines by national governments, leading to early treatment of all infected infants.
- Using enhanced monitoring and evaluation process to improve understanding of factors affecting poor retention rates and influence national strategies for addressing loss to follow-up.
- Mainstreaming paediatric interventions within the national governments, and assist with securing funding from other global donors to ensure sustainability.
