Humanitarian Aid
Crises such as natural disasters or civil and military conflicts place children in particularly vulnerable situations: social structures can break down, entire communities are often displaced, and food, water, income and education can be inaccessible. Humanitarian crises can arise anywhere in the world, leaving children especially vulnerable.
Our investments within this portfolio area are intended to ensure that the needs of children living in conflict, refugee or post-conflict situations are met in both planning and response.
Ensuring children's needs get high priority in emergency planning and response involves:
- Investing in strategies that provide educational opportunities for children in emergency situations (conflict and post-conflict) and;
- Supporting safe flight/ return of children and reunification of families.
CIFF has a number of programmes
in progress for this portfolio area.
