Education

We believe that access to an education is a basic human right and can be a major catalyst for change. All of our focus countries have adopted universal primary education. Our investments within this portfolio area will ensure that children are prepared, within their education systems, to fully realise their potential to learn and thrive.

Our priorities include:

• Promoting government capacity to institutionalise quality-enhancing efforts;
• Promoting programmes that enhance the quality of education in the classroom and community, with a focus on teacher recruitment, training and management.
