We are in the process of developing an internal research team to help guide broad scale investment direction for greatest potential impact on children. This function will include sectoral analysis on children's well-being globally, research on best implementing practices and an incubation function to enable testing of initiatives.

Microfinance: Does it fit CIFF's funding strategy?
A presentation for The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation board meeting on May 3rd 2004 by Cristina Cardellini. CIFF was interested in pursuing microfinance as a way to improve children’s lives through their parents. We conducted significant research, meeting with experts and reviewing numerous proposals. Ultimately, we decided that in our effort to enhance children’s well-being, there were other opportunities that were more directly aligned with our vision to enable children to survive, thrive, and mature into adulthood.
