Theo Sowa

Theo Sowa is a member of the CIFF UK Board of Trustees. She has worked as an independent consultant, policy advisor and trainer for more than 15 years. Her work focuses mainly on African social development, children and youth issues and HIV/AIDS. Theo was a Senior Program Officer Graça Machel's 1996 report on the impact of armed conflict on children. She was responsible for liaison and advocacy with international organisations and key government representatives at the UN, as well as making written contributions to the final report. She later led the research team to produce the five-year update of that report for the International Conference on War -Affected Children in September 2000. Theo continues to provide advice on children and leadership issues to a number of high profile activists and policy makers in Africa.
