Noerine KaleebaNoerine Kaleeba serves as a member of the CIFF HIV/AIDS Board of Advisors. She currently works as a community mobilisation and partnerships advisor for UNAIDS, the joint United Nations program on HIV/AIDS. Prior to this she founded the AIDS Support Organisation (TASO) in Uganda following the death of her husband, Christopher, who died of AIDS in 1987. For almost a decade she guided the development of TASO, shaping its policy and vision until she retired and became a patron of the organisation, a responsibility she holds to date. In addition, Noerine is the Chair of ActionAid International and an advisor to several HIV/AIDS and development NGOs. She has been a recipient of several national and international awards in recognition of her global efforts against HIV/AIDS. She holds a degree in physiotherapy. |
